American Wilderness Outfitters Limited was started by Jim and Russell Stringer in May 1992.  Both Jim and his son felt that the “great outdoors” should be enjoyed by people either by hiking, camping, paddling or climbing.   Our goal is to have the most sought after lines of clothes, shoes & gear for both outdoor use and fashion. With over 20 vendors A.W.O.L. has everything you need for your next outdoor adventure.

In November 11,  2006, we started Sundance Outfitters at beautiful Lake Oconee to help people enjoy the wonderful lake and outdoors in that area.  Just riding through Eatonton makes you want to jump out of  your car spend some time outdoors.  This location offers the same quality service and products that people have come to expect from A.W.O.L. ,but  extremely convenient to the lake.
